In the last few weeks of May 2024, I had the chance to get in touch with and work with Les Cajoutiers, a great school in Warang, Senegal that provides education and support to deaf and dumb children and children with Down Syndrome.
Together with one of the teachers, we decided to try to liven up one of the school buildings and therefore decorate the entrance wall. After a few tests on the computer, we decided to paint the wall with flowers colored with warm colors, which are universally a symbol of cheerfulness and lightheartedness, and to add stylised children holding hands. We finished it off with some green leaves and a handwritten inscription by the school’s founder explaining the school’s motive and purpose.
